A closer look at the Holiday Home
Dumaguete Holiday Home is a homely four-bedroom, two-story, detached house located in the friendly and quiet municipality of Bacong, just a short journey south along the main highway between Dumaguete City and Dauin, in the province of Negros Oriental in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.
The construction of the house was completed in 2009. In late 2013, the exterior and interior of the house were repainted, new drapery design introduced, new sofa and couch arrangement fitted, as part of a universal revamp of the house. In summer 2016, the vinyl floor cover upstairs was changed into a breezy new design.

Sit back in the terrace sofas upstairs, with a beautiful view towards the Holiday Home entrance gate, and further down to the sea.
Ground floor: An integrated living room, dining area and kitchen with dual gas/electric hob and full-size fridge/freezer for your self-catering convenience, are located downstairs, beside the master bedroom, which is fully air-conditioned. The en-suite bathroom comprises a shower with hot and cold water. The living room has two couches, a three-seater sofa, for watching television, or conversing in homely manner.
Upper floor: A spacious balcony with timeless baluster decorations is located directly after the stairs. Enjoying a drink seated in one of the two wooden benches, or having your evening snack at the bamboo coffee table – the choice is yours! Two additional double bedrooms and a third room, suitable for study or as an extra bedroom, are also located upstairs. One of the larger bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with the same facilities as in the downstairs comfort room.
Upper floor: A spacious balcony with timeless baluster decorations is located directly after the stairs. Enjoying a drink seated in one of the two wooden benches, or having your evening snack at the bamboo coffee table – the choice is yours! Two additional double bedrooms and a third room, suitable for study or as an extra bedroom, are also located upstairs. One of the larger bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with the same facilities as in the downstairs comfort room.
The master bedroom beside the kitchen, is air-conditioned and has plenty of storage cabinets for clothes and other belongings.
The entire house is fully furnished, however, if you require additional furnitures or appliances, let us know, and we will do our best to cater for your requests. An inventory list is available here. Any queries concerning the inventories (for instance, suggestions for additions) are welcome.
Garden: The garden pathways are paved and the garden is filled with flowers and surrounded by coconut, mango, banana and other fruit trees. A tiled jacuzzi for those relaxed afternoons at home can be found in one of the front corners of the garden. A semi-automatic washing machine is found near the jacuzzi.
The property is fully fenced for your security, and car-friendly, with ample space for parking of one personal car just inside the main gate. A basic barbecue bench and an outdoor tabo shower can be found at the back of the house.

The Holiday Home is located a few minutes from the popular Martisan Beach, where many local fishermen will arrive with the catch of the day in the early morning hours, and you can order various types of fish for your dinner plate. Many foreigners, from Australia, the U.S., South Korea, among other countries, have chosen to acquire or rent beach houses along the Martisan Beach or around other parts of the area.
The road leading to the Dumaguete Holiday Home will be upgraded to concrete cement during the coming year. This work is already under way.

All types of houses can be found in the area, from gated concrete beach houses to traditional Filipino bamboo and nipa huts. These materials are still in use, partly for economic reasons, but also due to their resistance against the salty sea water. Another reason for these materials is that the houses are built on a temporary basis due to being located on public land, where concrete houses are not permitted.
Wherever you look, the surroundings are filled with green leaves. Mango, banana and coconut trees are abundant. When you are here, just close your eyes and listen to the nature: the beautiful humming of the birds and the waves splashing onto the white sand. Take a stroll down to the sari-sari store, and see what's on offer!
